Ingredients for Kandanthippili Rasam:
Tamarind-Lemon Size Salt-as Needed Dry Chilly-3 Coriander-2 tsp Pepper-1 tsp Red Gram-1 tsp Cumin-1/2 tsp Oil-1/4 tsp Asafoetida-1/4 tsp Kandanthippili stick-Little
Ingredients for Seasoning:
Ghee-1/4 tsp Mustard-1/4 tsp Curry Leaves-2 Hand pinch
Procedure to make Kandanthippilai Soup:
1. Take a vessel, put the given ingredients except cumin and fry till the smell subsides. Then add cumin seeds and fry well and grind them. Extract the juice from tamarind in the 2 cup of water and filter it. Add salt along with tamarind juice and allow to boil well. Then add asafoetida. Then put the grinded powder in to rasam, when foam starts remove from flame. 2. Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard and curry leaves and let to splutter and then put in to rasam. Tasty kandanthippili rasam is ready.
